We run the following PADI specialty
courses throughout the year

Wreck Diver A 2
day course with 4 dives, during which you will map out, navigate around and
safely penetrate a couple of our wrecks.
Deep Diver The
emphasis is very much on safety and planning on this 2-day, 4-dive course.
The 1st days dives are to a maximum of 30 metres, and the 2nd day to 35 metres.
An ideal way to be introduced to more advanced diving while in the company of an
experienced Instructor.
Boat Diver 2
dives in 1 day off our 5.8 metre RIB, to show you some basic guidelines to
follow when diving from a boat.
Enriched Air
Over 2 days, we teach you the theory of Nitrox diving, and how to plan
no-decompression dives using a PADI Nitrox RDP. 2 dives on Nitrox finish off the
course.
Underwater Naturalist
A 2 day course, which teaches you in very basic terms how to recognise what
something is when you see it underwater - once you start to look, you'll be
amazed at the marine life there. 1 dive each day gives you the opportunity
to practice 'spotting' things. We also collect a few specimens to have a
look at under the microscope after the dives.
Dry Suit Diver
A 1 day course teaching you the theory of dry suit diving, followed by 2 dives
to put it into practice.
Peak Performance Buoyancy
2 dives in a day, both of which involve lots of practice at controlling your
buoyancy - a very useful skill!
Multilevel Diver
This course teaches you how to plan and carry out 2 multilevel dives using a
computer or the Padi Wheel.
Underwater Navigator
3 Dives, during which you develop your navigational skills underwater, ensuring
that on future dives you can always find your way back - or at least know you
are not where you should be!
Oxygen Administration
A 1 day classroom based specialty, which teaches you how to administer oxygen to
a diver in a medical emergency.
Extended Duration Specialty
2 dives in one day of approx. an hour long each. You learn how to plan
long no-decompression dives, and make the most of the air in your cylinder.

We offer the following BSAC Skill
development courses on a regular basis throughout the year:
Search and recovery
A 2-day course, involving theory and practical lessons, designed to teach you
how to search effectively for objects underwater, and bring them to the surface
safely.
Boat handling
Over 2 days, you learn basic boat handling theory, and get a chance to drive our
5.8 metre RIB in controlled (sometimes) conditions.
Diver Cox'n
Once you are confident and happy with your boat handling skills, you can apply
to do this assessment with us, and if you are successful you get the BSAC Diver
Cox'n certificate.
Chartwork & Position
Fixing A 2-day course, the 1st day is spent in the classroom
studying charts, and learning how to use them to help you successfully navigate
your way round our coastal waters. The 2nd day is spent putting it all
into practice on the water.
Nitrox Most
people now opt to do the 2 day combined basic and advanced course, which
involves a lot of head scratching in class on the 1st day, followed by 2 dives
on nitrox the following day. The dives include simulated decompression
stops, and learning how to deploy Delayed Surface Marker Buoys.
Oxygen Administration
A 1 day course which teaches you why, when and how to administer Oxygen to a
Diver in distress. A very valuable and worthwhile course.
Extended Range Diving
A 3 day course designed for experienced divers who already have the Advanced
Nitrox qualification. You get practical experience of using sidemounts, deco.
trapezes, and lots of practice at gas switching. At the end of the course
you will be qualified to use up to Nitrox 80 as a decompression gas.
Practical Rescue Management
A 1 day course, with a morning of theory, followed by an afternoon of practical
rescue scenarios.
Dive Marshalling
A 2 day course, the 1st day is spent learning all about the different aspects of
organising a diving event, and planning an actual dive. The 2nd day gives
students the opportunity to put it all into practice.
