Congratulations ...
...to Alan for finishing your BSAC Advanced course. While he was here, Alan also
spent a couple of days shooting footage for his children's DVD - Tails from
Sandy Bottom. We hope some of it will turn out well for you and look forward to
seeing the finished DVD in due course!
For anyone interested you can see more about Alan's work HERE
Weather conditions that week were far from ideal with very strong winds and it
made Kevin's introduction into UK diving a bit more challenging than we would
have liked but Stuart still managed to take some lovely photos!
There are loads of dogfish around at the moment and we are finding octopus
fairly regularly
Glynn, Emma, Neil, Andrew and Steffan brought the first of the glorious weather
with them, flat calm seas and sun all day. They had two great dives and were
fantastic company all day. We're looking forward to seeing you all again soon -
just be sure you bring the weather with you again!!
Congratulations also go to Kasia who has now completed her Advanced Open Water -
it must have been quite a shock to see anything after conditions on your last
visit but we hope you enjoyed yourself as much as we did.
As usual Long Gully did not disappoint with loads of life everywhere you looked
- We nearly missed the scorpion fish though....
and then there was the wrasse with attitude! He just sat on the rock watching us
swim past...
It might be a Boring sponge but it is never boring finding sponge crabs, and we
seem to be finding them fairly regularly at the moment...
...even naked ones!! Take a look at Bob's video clip HERE.
Wreck Fest Weekend - 19th & 20th June
We are organising a special wreck weekend......just wrecks, wrecks and more
wrecks for Sat 19th and Sun 20th June. We are planning to visit theCalburga and
the Vendome on the Saturday and a little further than we
usually venture for the Amazonense and the Nimrod on
the Sunday. We may even throw in a bimble around the Dan Beard as
well!
Tea and coffee will be supplied on the boat along with a few snacks. Don't
expect anything gourmet though as a RIB galley is a bit cramped!!!!
The price is £110 for the weekend and this includes air fills on Saturday
night.
Numbers are strictly limited so if you are interested please get
in touch as soon as possible to book your space.
The depths of some of the wrecks means this weekend is not suitable for Open
Water divers/ Ocean divers.
A good range of accommodation is available nearby with a choice from B&B,
hostel, pub B&B or camping. Please check out the links
page on our website for more information
Thanks
to Bob and Stuart for all the photos this month.
