Twelve people joined 'Bruce's Tours' trip to Malta in April this year.  The weather was good, the water was clear, and the food and drink were excellent as always.  The next trip will be to Egypt in November - places now being booked, so contact Bruce if you don't want to miss out.  Photos below courtesy of Sarah Payne.  Click on them for full size.

In 2004  people joined 'Bruce's tours', as it has become known, on holidays to the Red Sea and Malta.  Two visits were made to Egypt, one in February, and one in December.  Malta was the destination in March, and a good time was had by all in both places, proof of which can be seen on our Photo Gallery page.   Next trip will be in Malta in April 2005, if you're interested, contact Bruce!

In July this year (2004) we obtained MCA approval and Brown Coding for our 5.8m Humber RIB.  We can now offer Boat Charter on a year round basis to divers who wish to explore this beautiful part of north Pembrokeshire.  We are licensed to take 6 people on board (including skipper).  This small number guarantees space and comfort for 5 divers.  Go to our Boat Charter page for details of prices etc.

December last year saw 5 intrepid divers going off to the Red Sea.  They had all been on our Malta trip in March - and still came back to us for more!  Storm-swept Wales was forgotten as we stepped off the plane and into the warmth of Egypt.  The following day saw us up early and eager to get on the boat and go diving.

We stayed in Safaga - not the bright lights exactly, but a good base for diving, and for people desperate for fun at night, Hurghada wasn't too far away.

The diviFish1b.jpg (63381 bytes)ng was spectacular - reefs and drop-offs all teeming with life and covereBluespotray2.JPG (59102 bytes)d with brightly coloured coral, sponges, and anemones. On one particularly memorable dive, we were joined by dolphins, turtles and sharks.

The next Red Sea trip will be in November/December 2005.  If you're interested - contact us soon!

OUR YOUNGEST SCUBA DIVER

We are proud to present Luke Van-Kempen.  Luke recently became a qualified PADI Junior Scuba Diver at the age of 11, our youngest trainee to date.  He sailed through the pool training, and was looking forward to going into the sea to complete his 2 dives.  Unfortunately, after the first one, he developed sinus trouble, and had the disappointment of having to postpone things.  But a few weeks later, undaunted, he had another go - and succeeded!  He will undoubtedly follow his father Chris one day, who recently passed his PADI Open Water Instructor exam with flying colours.  Congratulations to both of you!

Early Start

The fuBadBrat.JPG (54342 bytes)n of this years Malta Experience began early.  As we set off down the runway at Bristol Airport, the plane developed some fault and we all had to return to the terminal for a 1 hour wait.  What can you do in an Airport terminal for 1 hour....a small glass of sherry perhaps to calm the nerves?  The delay turned out to be 6 hours, after which everyone was VERY calm!

The Diving

Sarah at Divewise had everything sorted for us as usual when we arrived, so the first days diving at Ghar Lapsi was off to a good start - except the Bar/Restaurant was closed!!! But no panic, we were just a bit early, and it opened while we were kitting up.....more nerve calming followed the dive.

During the week we also dived Comino, Gozo, The Rozi, El Farouk, Anchor Bay and a night dive at Zurrieq (check out our Dive Site page for more details).

Tony3.JPG (16207 bytes)This years experience became a more competitive one than most with 2 buddies trying to outdo each other.  Tony took all trophies with the Deepest, Shortest and Longest (110 mins) dives, so as a special treat he was allowed to buy the drinks.  2nd prize went to Phil for the 'Fastest' dive!

This years Expedition members were: Tony, Nick, Pete, Alan, Phil, Lynda, Ian and Hayley (Badbrat)  Are they all going to be able to stand up to the RED SEA Experience in November??? Watch this space!
